Project: UV Chamber

Purpose of Project: An aluminum UV chamber was constructed to protect people from UV exposure duing operation of a photocatalytic test system. The photocatalytic test system is used to degrade organics from air or water to assess the feasibility of the technology in various environmental applications. This test equipment will be used by undergraduate and graduate researchers and may be incorporated into a lab course for undergraduate paper science and environmental engineering students.
IL Comment: Box was built to user's specifications using aluminum sheet and angle. Electronics were designed to interlock the door using mostly recycled electronics parts from IL stock.
